Don't be surprised if you get goosebumps all over your spirit, soul and body! :) When I first got this CD, I played it in my car on my way to an appointment. When this song came on, something began to happen to my soul...to read what happens next, I'll post the You tube to ' Holy Spirit,You are Welcome in this place.' :)
I pray these songs will bless you and bring healing to your minds, your souls and your bodies as they have done me...to GOD be the GLORY! :)

We LOVE YOU Holy SPIRIT!! :hurray:

& now for the rest of the story.....:D While in the car..playing this CD "God He Reigns' by Hillsong..as I get to this song, The Glory of GOD, the Holy Spirit falls on me very, very strong, I had to pull over. I was close to a shopping center & that is where I pulled over.
Honestly, I don't recall having the Presence of the LORD 'hit me' like that. I was 'drunk in the Spirit'..and about 1/2 hr later, it lifted.
This was in 2006.

You are beautiful, You are beautiful!..
Dear Ones,
I have had very similar experiences to countmeworthy while listening to the very CDs you are referring to. In Raleigh we love to sing the new comterporary songs and the old traditional hymns and old LC supplement tunes. Often some get together just to sing and sing and sing. They let me join in as a joyful noise.
I will find out how to post some of the songs of praise and thanksgiving that our local saints have written. I am sure they will be a supply.
Hope, Don Rutledge

Hello, dear ones.
My dear wife and I have really been enjoying some of the "modern hymns" composed and sung by Keith and Kristyn Getty. Their music is always uplifting and the words are very Christ-exalting.
Here are a few links for you to enjoy:
1) A quiet, meditative, version of their modern hymn "In Christ Alone": click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLy8ksqGf9w).
2) A more upbeat version of "In Christ Alone" from a public appearance at Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, CA: click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZuIyrwSqHY).

Once there was a holy place
Evidence of God's embrace
And I can almost see mercy's face
Pressed against the veil
Looking down with longing eyes
Mercy must have realized
That once His blood was sacrificed
Freedom would prevail
And as the sky grew dark
And the earth began to shake
With justice no longer in the way
Chorus:
Mercy came running
Like a prisoner set free
Past all my failures to the point of my need
When the sin that I carried
Was all I could see
And when I could not reach mercy
Mercy came running to me
Once there was a broken heart
Way to human from the start
And all the years left it torn apart
Hopeless and afraid
Walls I never meant to build
Left this prisoner unfulfilled
Freedom called but even still
It seemed so far away
I was bound by the chains
From the wages of my sin
Just when I felt like giving in
Sometimes I still feel so far
So far from where I really should be
He gently calls to my heart
Just to remind me
Phillips, Craig and Dean

I just recently bought (again) a pile of CDs from http://christianbook.com, mostly from the discount bin.. I was feeling the need for more Christian music for my long commute to work and back (1-1.5h each way). Anyways, right now, the songs that I am loving the most, and bring me to tears every time I hear them:
David Meece - We Are The Reason
Steven Curtis Chapman - His Strength is Perfect
Steven Curtis Chapman - My Redeemer is Faithful and True
After being stuck with only LSM approved hymns for a while now, I have found it extremely liberating to hear good Christian music again. And as a bonus, my wife keeps swiping the CDs to listen to them, so she's getting a dose of non-LSM Christian music too :)

Excellent choices ABrotherInChrist!
Another blessed and Anointed Christian musician is Fernando Ortega.
I will attempt to insert youtubes here to watch and listen to him play his piano unto the Lord. God truly uses this man to bring us into the Presence of the King. :) His music is very moving and soothing. I like to go to sleep listening to his cds. Of course, it takes me a lot longer to fall asleep as I end up Praising and Worshipping the Lord before I finally fall asleep. :D

I'll have to take a look at these at home sometime. At work they've blocked youtube (bah!) I know, I should be working at work, but it IS lunch time, so whatever. :)
I was just getting a bit frustrated with the lack of spiritual feeding in my life due to being stuck in the LSM/LC for now (until my wife is ready to leave)... And the Lord is good... He brought to my mind yet another song:
Steven Curtis Chapman - Wait on the Lord.
Rather humbling, but there it is:
"Wait, wait, wait on the Lord. You will understand in time why you must wait..."
Oh, Lord give me more patience :)

Excellent Terry! Those of you out there who do not know the Keith Green story should check it out here on youtube. There is a whole series. The man was wildly converted and served the Lord with a reckless abandon like none other. Many of the songs he wrote as a newly saved young man have become classics in the church. I bet many don't realize that this wild curly haired guy wrote this stuff...
"There is a redeemer":

A song I enjoyed in this morning's worship.I must agree on this song. And the passion of singing about God's compassion somehow screams for the sound and feel of an 80s rock ballad to display that passion.

The Alter and the Door:
Careless, I am reckless
I'm a wrong-way-travelin'-slowly-unraveling shell of a man
Burnt out, I'm so numb now
That the fire's just an ember way down in the corner of my cold, cold heart
(Pre-Chorus)
Lord, this time I'll make it right, here at the altar I lay my life
Your kingdom come but my will was done, my heart is broken as I...
(Chorus)
Cry, like so many times before
But my eyes are dry before I leave the floor, oh Lord
I try but this time, Jesus, how can I be sure I will not lose my follow through
Between the altar and the door
Here at the altar, oh my world so black and white
How could I ever falter
What You've shown me to be right
(Pre-Chorus)
(Chorus)
I'm trying so hard to stop trying so hard
Just let You be who You are
Lord, who You are in me
Jesus, I'm trying so hard to stop trying so hard
Just let You be who You are
Lord, who You are in me
Oh Lord, I

Listening to the song made me think specifically of two brothers Ransford Ackah and Francis Ball who had passed away within the last 5 years. Each had maintained their vision. One had parted ways with Living Stream while one continued as a locality elder and FTTA trainer.
Each of these two brothers were co-workers in San Bernardino when I was a high school brother. I was distraught how their passing was received so differently. If we say we are the Body, however the measure of our love fluctuates whether or not we're meeting with the recovery?
It's easy to say we love all members of the Body, but when our actions illustrate a contradiction.....what says ye?
