And it has taken up the majority of my time. Personally, and humanly I probably should stop. Repentances, however, from RK and company have been slow in coming, so more truth comes to them, and that will be so with or without me. Chinese brother's wife grew up in the church in Taipei "Witness Lee was not only authoritarian when he was in Taiwan, he was authoritarian. Period! Stephen Kaung (SK) was diametrically opposite of him. SK is humble, lowly, and unassuming. WL exercised total control over his LC empire. SK never ever meddled in the affairs of each of the local assemblies." "The first time WL came to Houston in the late 70's, the elders took him on a tour of the property. In the bookroom, he glanced over the various Christian classics by many notable writers such as Jessie-Penn Lewis, William Law, G.H. Pember, D.M. Panton, Madam Guyon.... He turned to the elders and said, "You guys still sell these books?" Later, one of the elders whispered to the sisters working in the bookroom, including my late wife, Mary, "Pull those books off the shelf and store them away in the attic...." From then on, we only had WL's books and some W. Nee's books to browse and buy. In the early 80's, WL's empire grew larger with takeovers in many cities, his books and "Life Studies" increased shelf space, and W. Nee's books dwindled.... You might find it interesting, but I noticed that whenever there was a "rebellion" or trouble in the empire, Lee would mention Watchman Nee's messages, and spontaneously, more of Nee's books would be printed and occupied a little more shelf space in the bookroom.... "In the 50's, the four lieutenants were left longing for deeper and richer life and ministry after being exposed to T. Austin Sparks (TAS) heavenly ministry. WL had determined not to invite TAS again. So the leader of the 4 lieutenants, Newman Zhe, approached WL and said, "Bro. Lee, we know the difference between your ministry and TAS' ministry. His ministry is like a juicy apple dangling in the sky; but it is too high, no one can reach it. Your ministry is more down to earth and applicable...." With a sweet-talk, Zhe managed to persuade Lee to invite TAS again in 1957. "In 1965, Lee returned to Taiwan to deal with the problem. He called a coworkers/elders meeting in Taipei where he publicly denounced the 4 lieutenants and stripped them of their official ministries and kicked them all out of church-owned houses where they lived. Overnight, they became homeless - Lin with 8 young kids, Wei with 3 young girls.... What cruelty! And those houses did not even belong to Lee." Appendix 3, p.12 |

Re: Turning Away from the Vision new Indy, I admire your dedication to the cause of keeping the gross errors of the LSM, et al, in front of them. They need to be kept bobbing and weaving until the knock-out blow lands. But there are times that I think that a better look at the "vision that he [Lee] and Watchman Nee espoused in China" might be a better course of action. It seems more and more clear to me that this "vision" was itself the deviation that needs to be corrected. I agree that it got worse and worse over time. But I am not sure that it was ever more than a kind of power play. A way for an obvious genius to become a leader without any real qualification other than the claim of a great mind. |

Turning Away from the Vision new http://www.lordsrecovery.us/TurningA...mtheVision.pdf Witness Lee’s deviation from the vision that he and Watchman Nee espoused in China (and that Lee brought to the U.S.) created open division. LSM co-workers fostered this division, while The Four being quarantined never left the vision of Christ and the church ministered to them in the beginning. Factually speaking, it was not The Four being quarantined who were responsible for anything; but to tell the truth and that they did - and so did David Wang in The True Account. LSM was on the march and thought it was okay to follow their leader who inspired the march. “We will have an invincible morale, and we will march over all obstacles. Wherever we go, we will more than conquer. This is what we must have today.” With Philip Lee issuing directives whether under W. Lee’s command or on his own, and whether at home or abroad, LSM did their works of devastation. It is just not recorded by them and offered in the churches. |
