Re: Prayer for Country & World Amen these prayers! Last week about 30 people in the church I meet with in Turlock, CA came together around the flag pole on its campus to pray for our country, state, and local government leaders, following the apostles exhortation to do that so that God’s people can live godly lives in peace and because our Savior God desires all men to be saved and come to the full knowledge of the truth. We prayed in spite of external circumstances and ended with a song of praise. I was grateful to have that privilege. I suspect this sort of thing is happening around the world, but it won’t often make the papers, and that’s OK. |

Prayer for Country & World Today a new president is being inaugurated. He is being sworn in during unprecedented times in our country here in the USA. A virus has spread fear and confusion, along with a measure of death and destruction. The country is severely divided politically and much of the media is being driven by extremists at both ends. The world itself seems a much more dangerous place, with several rogue nations uttering threatenings, and a few nations seeking to dominate forcefully. That is the backdrop . . . . . . . . but then there's God! We must turn to Him in this time of need! We must pray that His will is done and men will come to the saving knowledge of Christ. We must pray for our leaders, that His hand will be fully over them, regardless of what our political beliefs are. We must pray that He has full dominion and that our unseen enemy is crushed under our feet and that His kingdom is fully manifested on earth. We must pray and give it all to Him. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind!"
