OK. The slang “gee” or “geez” is merely a shortened form of “Jesus,” which so easily rolls off the tongue of even Christians. People, even professing believers, are so careless with their words, repeating what they hear from others, or from the media. Someone who comes here on the forum to criticize a b-day blessing ought to be careful with his/her own words. Jesus seems to be upset the most with hypocrites.
Many times I’ll just stop a conversation and ask people, “do you know what you just said?” They will say, “what do you mean?” I then kindly ask them why they would curse the name of a man who died 2,000 years ago. They are just so clueless.
Recently a pastor got a little offended with me. He used the expression, “holy cow!” So I asked him if he was Hindu. I don’t think I’m just nit-picking here. Numerous scripture mentions we will be judged for our words, especially those of a pastor. Words matter. We should watch our words.
