Assad's regime has been estimated to have killed 8,000 to 17,000 children from three separate groups (UN, Oxford Research group, and an opposition party in Syria). This does not include women, civilians, or children who have been tortured.
As for Trump his military strike landed clearly and undeniably in a military base that was actively being used for war.
