Great observation of how "take the cross" is often used. I was told this too. Rather than take the appropriate steps regarding an unrepentant saint, I was told to take the cross and forgive.....just be okay with the situation. The elders, generally speaking, don't have the backbone to stand against sin and stand up for righteousness......only the backbone to stand up for protection of the ministry.
