Nah, it is changing it.

The story of CBS news is the story of how professional journalists were eventually compromised and taken over by a corporate mindset. This has killed their journalism. But it opened the door for NPR (Frontline) and Internet bloggers. The job is integral to democracy and hence it will continue. The most professional people doing it will still come out of excellent universities and will do this out of love and not for money. As long as you have corruption you will have those who battle corruption.

Well a great example of confirmation bias is this last election. Problem with that is that reality will rear its ugly head every so often just as it did in this election. But even in the midst of the worst example of confirmation bias I saw several (2) pundits who do poll analysis who predicted a Trump victory based on their algorithms. Not to mention Bill Clinton who also saw this coming behind the scenes.

It is a jungle, just like the Wild West. But it will eventually be civilized. We need a John Wayne for the internet. A Billy the Snowden Kid, or maybe a new sheriff in Tombstone, perhaps Julian Asange.
