New Living Translation
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16

I posted this verse in another thread.

I'm throwing out the WL false teaching that only some scripture is useful and the error that the Christian should not be concerned with right and wrong.

When Lee first introduced the saying that we "Christians should not be obsessed with right and wrong," the context was petty differences that could overly occupy certain immature believers, and a call to deny yourself such nonsense. It was reasonable fellowship, which could be made by any of a million pastors on Sunday morning.

Lee, however, had a way about changing things over time. Eventually the same banner got waved over matters of grave consequence and oftentimes criminal activity, and the unsuspecting masses still have in mind petty matters of little consequence. I used to give Lee every benefit of the doubt, thinking him to be genuinely sincere and well-meaning. The facts of history no longer support that.

There was good reason for that. Not to focus on "the foxes ruining the vineyards". If we were to focus on "the foxes ruining the vineyards" we would have been looking at Lee and sons.
I'm sure the blendeds follow the same tradition when it comes to right and wrong. They don't want to be placed under the microscope. Just speak positively.

But when did WL back then, or the Blendeds today, ever speak positively of the larger body of Christians, on whose behalf they supposedly meet? Anything positive, if at all, would be followed by a pause, then a 'but', and then some qualifier. "It is good that Christianity does 'X', 'Y', and 'Z'... (wait for it)... but.... we must say that this and that are wholly inadequate."

What has held them to this unending stream of negativity? The Spirit of Christ? Or some other spirit?

This is part of the double standard that results in spiritual bullying. To meet in the local churches, you or I cannot criticize, point out defects or hypocrisy of LSM/LC practices and teachings, but it is applauded usually with a chorus of amen's whenever in a meeting someone criticizes, points out defects or hypocrisy of non-LSM/LC Christianity. As I have posted before I asked an elder about this and he didn't have a problem with what I defined as negative speaking.
Maybe I have it all wrong. To run down non-LSM/LC Christian is viewed as building up the body? That it's considered to be edifying?
Maybe the blendeds feel they're qualified to besmirch one who exercise their spiritual gifts as they're the self-anointed ones who know the feeling of the Body.

I believe there is only one who knows the feeling of the body and that is the Holy Spirit.

I don't know the percentages, but I'm a product of my genes, family, social environment, and God's grace. On Friday nights I go to the homeless shelter and see some pretty needy people. Some have probably made bad choices, some have been abused from day-one, maybe some enjoy the lifestyle. The point is that I can't discern the percentages; I would probably be there given the right percentages. Maybe God's grace in a person's life should be evaluated as the change in |absolute value| rather than where people are on the negative - positive scale. I think in God's genuine economy the "last" may be first, and the "first" may be last.

Paul says when one member suffers all suffer. When one member is glorified, all glory. That's called empathy and compassion (and the feeling of the body in my accounting). I didn't see much of that happening in LC in recent years.
