A few outliers on the extremes of the bell-shaped curve don't constitute a significant statistical trend.

And not everyone that voted were counted in the win. Hillary won the popular vote.

Hence the problem with a democracy. If we did this by popular vote the politicians would focus exclusively on cities where 2/3 of the US population lives. The top 10 cities in population would probably get 80% of their attention. New Hampshire and Iowa would become irrelevant and forgotten. It would be akin to the Hunger Games. Besides fiction is so bogus, instead of some girl winning because everyone else killed themselves leaving her relatively guilt free, the reality is she gets killed for her sins and the big contemptible bully wins which is much more realistic.

On the other hand if we did a parliamentary system we would always get a political insider as Prime Minister.

I think that now that we have the internet it is possible and practical to use referendums more and I think we should.

Obviously the Founding Fathers foresaw that big city power brokers needed to be balanced by the electoral system.

That's like complaining why should Wyoming get two Senate seats, the same number as California?

I'm amazed at how little liberals know about our "republic." Democratic leaders constantly tell their people we are a "democracy," but we are not. I do wish folks would study a little political science and get educated properly.

If Democrats have any complaints about the election, it should be at their own corrupt leaders. TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY!

Bernie Sanders needs his day in court! But wait ... he already got paid off for taking the fall in round one.
