At the time of 9/11 we had a debt around $7 trillion. At the height of the great depression our debt was 300% of our GNP, in 2010 it was 370%. By any reasonable estimation of credit the US should be raising alarm bells. The US debt virtually doubled under Obama.

From 1950 to 1980 our debt to GNP ratio was less than 200%, a healthy ratio.
