How did I mock him? He campaigned on the claim that "he is a great negotiator". Surely some people voted for him based on that claim. It was a very close election so anything that made a difference in a few key states is how he got elected. Republicans control the Whitehouse, Senate and House. From what I understand the shutdown was also due to 4 republicans.

My point is simple, Schumer does not control every single Democrat. They needed 41 votes to get the shutdown, Schumer is just one vote.

I support listening to those who voted for Trump, I also support listening to those who chose a shutdown.
